I’ve noticed that there’s a small crack on my windshield. What should I do to stop the crack from spreading? Any car windshield repair tips that you can share?

Hi Michael! If you see a crack on your windshield it is best that you do something about it the soonest possible. As you see, most people would just ignore a small damage on their windshield for they thought it would not cause any further damage. But, the truth is that, once there is a crack or damage on the windshield, this could spread and would eventually lead to complete damage of the windshield. And when that happens, the only option you have will be to replace the windshield, which could be quite expensive.

So to avoid any further damage on your windshield it is best that you do something about it. Buy a windshield repair kit and deal with your car windshield repair as soon as possible. These repair kits are affordable and include the materials that you need in fixing your windshield.

Also, since you are from Alaska, another good car windshield repair tip is to avoid turning on the defroster in your car for the sudden heat that the defroster emits would cause for the damage on your windshield to spread. In addition, if there is ice on the windshield, never use an ice scrapper to remove the ice. Lastly, never put hot water on the windshield for this will also cause the damage to spread.
